Dr. Su Yunsheng has been active in cross-disciplinary, cross-scale planning of AI city and the innovative design of urban products and service systems. He owns a number of global landing cases, patents and applications in areas including smart home design centering on green ecology and sustainability, modular building construction and supply chain integration. Meanwhile, he has addressed and trained personnels from governments and enterprises in various circumstances.
Apart from working as the innovation director of Master Planner for Shanghai 2010 World Expo, Dr. Su Yunsheng has also led the conceptual planning of Beijing Tongzhou Canal city as well as the protection and development planning of various historical villages and towns, including the six towns in Jiangnan areas. He has been part of the planning projects on around 10 international cities in countries including Angola, Zambia, and Russia. Dr. Su has been invited to give lectures on smart city innovations in Municipal Commissioner Training Courses of Beijing and Shanghai, Global TED, Tencent WE Conference, CCTV Program “One Person One World Show” and other events. He has also been served as the tutor of the innovation mentor in Tongji University and many institutions and companies.

2005-2010
He participated in the whole planning process of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo as a core member of the chief planner team, led the planning of the Expo Village, and served as a theme interpretation consultant for the Expo Theme Pavilion.
In recent years, his planning research has focused on intelligent mixed-use development in high-density urban centers, and his works include Guangzhou Financial City and Fuzhou Sanjiangkou Headquarters Base.
Since 2005 He has been involved in the creation of the journal City China, a systematic study of the phenomena and problems of China's rapid urbanization in the form of spatial and temporal illustrations of urban themes. In addition, he continues to direct international student work camps at Tongji University, MIT, AA School of Architecture, Hong Kong University, Bauhaus University, Darmstadt University, Aalto University, and other internationally renowned institutions to promote interdisciplinary urban innovation. Since 2006 He founded Etopia with the patented technology of the“E-Building System”, and used it as a platform to promote the industrialization of intelligent eco-housing in China in the context of information technology in collaboration with the young professional leaders of Tongji University, dedicated to the design integration innovation of Chinese construction and Chinese manufacturing. His works related to intelligent construction have been published in China-Belgium "Architecture Utopia" exhibition, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Biennale (2007, 2011, 2013), Chengdu West Expo (2009), etc. He has been invited to give keynote speeches in international forums in Korea, Denmark, Netherlands, Malaysia, Brazil, Russia, etc.
2020-present Etopia cooperated with BGI to apply the air membrane negative pressure isolation space product system in the "Huo-Yan Air Laboratory" project, and built it in many countries at home and abroad to participate in the global fight against epidemics. The project has been featured in the international top journal Nature's best science picture of the month, CCTV news and XUEXI.cn, won more than ten awards, applied for several patents, published several articles and released several standards.
